past projects
Please have a look at the sites I have created so far.
paperterrain.com
This was a fantastic project to work on, the owner was wonderful to work with. Paperterrain is a web site for a true niche market. The owner sells paper structures by mail order for use in modeling. This business easily sells it's wares all over the world.
This job was a site redesign. The new site is centered around showing off the stunning models produced by Paperterrain, and has 10+ galleries to do just that. It also incorporates a forum that I set-up and an online store managed by the owner.
otherworld.me.uk
This is my latest project. The owner wanted to keep the black and white look of the site as that was the color used on the miniatures blisters and other products from Otherworld Miniatures. With this in mind, I began to give the site an update. We added the orange color to help make inportant things stand out, but not take away from the outerspace black and white theme.
I added much needed whitespace (or blackspace) to the site to help with legibility. I optimized all of the pictures on the site for the web, and standardized the sizes to give it a polished look. The code has also been optimized to help it fare better in search results, by adding headings and more semantic mark up. CSS has been used to help the owner maintain the site with the same look, wihout haveing to learn extremely complicated code.
I contacted Rusti after seeing his ad on The Miniatures Page. I had an established website, which I had designed myself with my limited knowledge of HTML, but it was looking very dated and badly needed a facelift. Rusti quoted me a very reasonable price for the work, and made excellent suggestions for improvement, so I was happy to give him the job.
The whole process was handled quickly and efficiently, especially as we are on opposite sides of the Atlantic! The site was designed so that I could carry out all updates and maintenance myself. The graphic appearance of the site, as well as the design of the store have been a huge improvement. The addition of a forum has also been good for business and good fun to manage.
GameWick Games
This project was a much needed redesign of a game companies website. The owner had done a great job of growing a website to meet the needs of his business, but with little prior web building experience, the project became a management nightmare. The site became ungainly and hard to navigate.
We took the existing content and gave it a facelift with some new backgrounds and a more polished appearance. I brought a more unifom look and consistent navigation to begin with. After this we tried to keep things consistet throughout the site without loosing any personality that the site had before. This is a fun game with a light hearted site! You may like to see the old site.
