My name is Rusti Gregory. I am a husband and father of three daughters. I began playing on the web when I started my first teaching job. I ran a site where I could post classroom rules and other information for my students. Later, when I began work at a different school, I took a job with more responsibility for work on the web. Eventually I read a book that explained the benefits of XHTML, CSS, and Web Standards. Numerous books and sites later, I am now ready to help you bring your message to the net.
While I am a teacher during the week, I am also a part-time web designer specializing in sites for niche markets. I would love to help you take your organization or business to the masses. I can do site redesigns or a whole site from the ground up.
My prices are very reasonable as this is not my main source of income, but rather something I do for enjoyment and the challenge. Therefore you will find my rates much lower than other web design companies. I believe web sites should be simple to use. No one wants to work hard when viewing a web site, there are many options available to people on the web. If your site is not easy to use, they will go elsewhere. Above all, your content should be the focus of the site. A good looking web site with nothing to say will not have return visitors.
accessibility
Accessibility is about making your site available to the greatest audience possible. This has always been a challenge with the wide variety of web browsers available, but the challenge will continue to grow as more and more mobile devices are used to access the web. The younger generations are increasingly accessing the web with phones and PDA's. As the web becomes more of a staple in our everyday lives, people with disabilities need increasing access to web sites as well.
Searchability or googleability, as it is sometimes known, is also important to the value of a web site. If a site is created correctly from the beginning, it's rank in web searches will increase. Proper mark up, or code, will help this.
A properly planned and coded site is robust and meets all of these needs and will continue to adapt to future challenges.
